Rooted in Community

A New Chapter Begins

  • Hello friends and flourers,

I’m Brita, the founder of With Flour in Her Hair — a farm-to-table catering company rooted in local soil and thoughtful hospitality. This business was built on the belief that food has the power to gather, nourish, and connect us.

Over the years, many of you have gathered around my tables — for weddings, nonprofit fundraisers, backyard dinners, or brought my food into your homes through weekly menus, holiday spreads, and special-occasion cakes. Every meal has been a reminder that this community is at the heart of everything I do.

Now, I’m stepping into an exciting new chapter.

A Permanent Home for With Flour

After four years of searching (and more than a few almosts), I’ve found the space I’ve been dreaming of — a cozy, sunlit commercial kitchen and event venue in Lynn, MA, that can host up to 70 guests. It’s the kind of place that feels like it was made for what I’ve always wanted to build: a true home for beautiful food and meaningful gatherings on the North Shore.

This new space will allow me to expand With Flour in Her Hair in powerful, intentional ways:

    • Seasonal, locally sourced catering throughout the North Shore

    • Community suppers, pop-up dinners, brunches, and events

    • Workshops and hands-on cooking classes

    • Collaborations with nonprofits and aligned organizations

    • A small in-house pantry and retail market

But this isn’t just about growth — it’s about deepening roots. This is about creating a lasting space for community, sustainability, and story-driven hospitality.

  • Thanks to an incredible angel investor, the foundational costs of securing the space and kitchen have been covered. But to truly bring this vision to life, there are still essential pieces I need help funding.

    This fundraiser will help cover:

    • Hiring support staff and apprentices

    • Initial event costs (tables, signage, packaging)

    • Pop-up retail infrastructure

    • Rent overlap and operational cushion

    • Bringing warmth and intention into the space — creating a place that truly feels like home

  • This isn’t just a business — it’s a community hub, built on values that matter deeply:

    • A queer woman-owned business expanding during one of the hardest times for small, independent makers

    • A commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing

    • Partnerships with local farms and nonprofits

    • Creating good jobs and learning opportunities in food

    • A space for storytelling, nourishment, and meaningful human connection

If you’ve ever attended a dinner, ordered a holiday cake, or shared a galette with a friend — you already know what this is about. And if you’re just getting to know With Flour, welcome — there’s always a seat at the table.

    • Donate any amount — every dollar helps make this vision a reality -

    • Share this fundraiser with friends, neighbors, and folks who love food and community

    • Hire Me — whether it’s a private dinner, drop-off catering, a special cake, or a nonprofit event, booking my services is one of the most direct ways to support this next chapter

    • Send a note of encouragement— they mean more than you know

Thank you for believing in this dream. I can’t wait to open the doors and gather with you again — around beautiful tables, with flour in our hair.

    With love & flour,
    Brita
